business development manager - leisure

In its breathtaking position at North Head in the natural setting of Sydney Harbour National Park, the former Quarantine Station, used from the 1830s for over 150 years, has been beautifully restored as a unique and culturally significant hotel and conference and wedding facility, five minutes from Manly. We offer accommodation, over ten conference, functions and wedding venues, the Boilerhouse Restaurant which is close to the beach and tours.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager - Leisure to join our busy sales team initially the position is maternity cover, however it could lead to other opportunities as we are a new busy expanding business. If you have a proven track record as a Business Development manager, enjoy communicating with customers and driving sales in the tourism market and have a current driving licence and car then this is the ideal position for you.

We are looking for an energetic and highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic, and an excellent track record of achieving sales in the tourism/hospitality industry. Focusing on ITO’s, wholesaler’s, websites (third party and Q Station) and special events. You need to have a passion for delivering to customer expectations every time. Established networks and contacts within the Australian domestic and international market would be an advantage. This position will include some evening and weekend work.

The position is full time; you will be on the road meeting with clients for at least two days of those per week.

Candidates with sales experience in special interest tourism properties, such as retreats, will be highly regarded.

Q Station Retreat in Manly is seeking an experienced, hands on Hotel Duty Manager to join the Front Office Team

Reporting to the Front Office Manager this role will assist with the overall management of the Front Office Department. It involves all aspects of Front Office Management.

We are looking for Duty Managers who can not only perform but develop and motivate our staff to give above and beyond for our patrons. You will have a broad range of duties from managing staff and training, reporting and interacting with patrons at the highest level.

Essential Skills

• Extensive operational knowledge of Front Office
• Strong computer literacy
• Exceptional communication skills and a willingness to take on additional responsibility
• Previous experience in a similar role
• NSW Current driver’s license
• RSA certificate

We welcome the involvement of volunteers to assist us with the conservation, adaptation the operation of the site.

At present we have volunteers involved with:

- Historic research
- Simple conservation works
- Site maintenance
- Visitor research and visitor management
- Special event management

Opportunities change continuously with the work program and preference is given to people making a long term commitment over a one off experience.
