History, Ghost & Paranormal Tours
From the 1830s to 1984 migrant ships arriving in Sydney with suspected contagious disease anchored inside North Head and off-loaded passengers and crew into quarantine to protect local residents from the threat of infection.
After several weeks most passengers were released to settle as Australian residents. Some passengers experienced a first class resort, making new friends and sharing dreams of a bright new future. For others it was a far more frightening experience of disempowerment, disease and death.
To really understand what these people went through, and the spirit they left behind, we have created a range of hosted tours. These experiences offer customers varying levels of opportunity to participate in activities that bring out the underlying stories and emotions of those who were here.
National Park Tours and Experiences

Sydney Harbour National Park protects a number of islands and foreshore areas around one of the world's most famous harbours. It offers a retreat to wildlife serenity while you learn about the day to day living experiences of early quarantine guests. Get to know species of plants and animals in more detail in one of our tours. See everything from convict built buildings to Aboriginal sites and the heritage lighthouse.
Harbourside Dining
Dine on the edge of Sydney's amazing Harbour. Enjoy fresh modern Australian cuisine prepared to perfection by Q Station's world class chef.
Start your dining experience with a drink in the Engine Room or on the terrace. Two giant boilers have been carefully restored and the walls are covered with enormous pipes and valves that once sent steam to the autoclaves and boiling water to the showers and the laundry.
Next door in the Boilerhouse, the dining mezzanine level offers glimpses of Quarantine Beach and the open plan kitchen below. Or venture outside and enjoy your meal in a serene atmosphere surrounded by mature trees while you look out onto one of the most magnificent views in Sydney.
From the restaurant walk onto Quarantine Beach and have a swim before or after your meal, or while you enjoy a wine and conversation your children can enjoy the beach.
